Founded in 1983, with a current staff of 15 professionals, Winston Associates specializes in the following services:

Public Facilitation is the cornerstone of our projects.  We attempt to engage all stakeholders and citizens, through large community meetings, small focus groups, multi-day work sessions and surveys.  By engaging as many citizens and perspectives as possible, the result is most often a thoroughly understood, comprehensive and supported plan.  We have been engaged on numerous projects for our conflict resolution capabilities.

Comprehensive Land Planning.   We complete comprehensive planning for everything from detailed subarea planning to City-wide and regional County planning.  These plans have been in urban and rural contexts, including residential, commercial and mixed-use. 

Recreation Planning services that range from detailed design of a park to an integrated master plan for a community’s recreation needs.  Park design is a specialty and Winston Associates have designed regional facilities, City and destination parks, as well as neighborhood pocket parks. 

3D Visualizations that allow quick-feedback for all projects. Our experience has shown that computer-generated 3D images, whether ground level walk-throughs or bird’s eye pans, allow clients and the public to quickly and thoroughly understand proposed improvements as well as aesthetic issues, and resolve concerns.

Landscape Architecture projects that go beyond mere planting plans, but rather a creative-approach to designing spaces that are completely functional and aesthetically pleasing. 

GIS Cartography and Community Viz are additional tools that we have mastered and utilize in every process to generate indicator-based measurements and solutions that are realistic and implementable.

Resource analysis and planning of urban areas for revitalization, carrying capacity analysis, and the integration of environmental constraints into creative land planning.
